An intense low pressure system with a central pressure falling 24 millibars in 24 hours is often referred to as explosive cyclogenesis or a 'weather bomb'. Essentially, a 'weather bomb' is just a stronger version of a regular low pressure which often means stronger winds and more intense precipitaion can be expected. As the jet stream brings the storm towards Norway from the southwest, the low pressure quickly deepens as it moves to the colder side of the jet stream.

Bjorli is in line for strong winds from Wednesday afternoon with possible gales likely in the mountains during the evening. The south westerly wind will later veer westerly and then north westerly which will bring snow from during the evening onwards. Blizzards with very poor visibility and heavy snowfall can be expected overnight. The heavy snow will continue through much of Thursday before becoming lighter by evening.
