Mostly Dry & Cloudy

Writer: Mike CMike C

Not much to say about the coming week's weather other than it will be mostly dry and quite uneventful. The wind will mostly be light and between the SW and SE with mostly partly cloudy or overcast cloud cover. Temperatures will be close to average for the time of year.

Any Snow Likely Soon?

Snow is not expected during this coming week and this is because the weather pattern has broadly remain unchanged in the last 2 or 3 weeks with the jet stream tracking slightly further south than normal with areas of Low Pressure stalling close to the UK and keeping Bjorli on the dry side with the air coming up from the south. Changes in this pattern are usually slow but given we have had this set-up for a few weeks now, I think a change to a more mobile weather type can be expected by mid-November. Of course, it is too early to state that with high confidence but there are some signs of a change in both the GFS and ECM ensembles. More on this in the next post but for now, it's a continuation of the dry and rather benign weather.
