The snowfall this weekend arrived as expected with the rain on Saturday afternoon turning to sleet and then to snow with most of the snow falling on Sunday with the cooler temperatures.
Snow showers will continue for the first half of tonight but will gradually become lighter before dying away later. Temperatures will remain below freezing and so ice will become an issue and make for some tricky driving conditions.
Monday to Wednesday will see variable temperatures with Tuesday being the mildest day. Some precipitation is expected and this will mostly fall as snow on Monday but amounts will be small before turning to patchy and light sleet and rain on Tuesday. Wednesday will see drier conditions as pressure rises but the risk of a few light snow showers remain possible overnight into Thursday. The emphasis during the second half of the week is on colder weather with overnight temperatures possibly falling to between -10c and -15c.
